Residual payments
The whole thing about residual payments is wrong. Why should anyone receive payment (again) for something they did years ago.
A fairer system would see an artist receive royalties on their book, movie, screenplay or song etc for a few years and then it should be made public domain.
This would encourage artists to do more work, already we see far more bands are touring because of lower revenues from record sales.
Really copyright only enables a few people at the top of their profession to become obscenely rich. Whilst condemning the rest to penury.
