But it's easier to say "zero gravity" to idiots rather than explain the basic physics of free fall to them.

But he did neglect one important factor which is that when I'm shagging your mum in a free falling elevator I can hit the emergency stop button just in time for the money shot, a luxury not afforded to a genuinely inertial observer who has to let his filthy muck float in pearly globules around the spaceship.
