This is a normal post Clearly, there is, as is almost always the case, inadequate space for a bike lane.
I hope the twat with his absurd sense of entitlement is soon a cornea donor.

This is a normal post And yet, a clearly marked bike lane is there.
Would have thought you'd sympathize with victims of scofflaws, but I guess it's conditional with you.

Given the volume of pedestrians I would contend there shouldn't be a bike lane there.

This is a normal post Well, it doesn't work as it should certainly.

This is a normal post It cannot work, there isn't the space.

This is a normal post I might do a similar recording to play out of speakers from my car
It will sing "Main road, you`re on a main road, Don't undertake vehicles near junctions, if you have a queue of traffic behind you let them past, commit to either being on the road OR the pavement, Red lights apply to you as well, if you need to break the law to get there faster consider getting a car"

It doesn`t scan or rhyme very well but the tune is good.

This is a normal post I like this
Can we make it a duet?

I'll do the bit from my bike that goes 'You're mostly lazy twats who're killing people with your negligent driving and pollution. Stop clogging up the roads and filling hospitals with cases of type 2 diabetes. Don't run red lights and put the fucking phone away you massive nobber'

Need to work on the rhyme, but I reckon we're almost good for a West End musical.

This is a normal post You missed the bit about the pathetic cunts who, when stuck in slow-moving traffic, purposedly pull into the kerb just as a cyclist is approaching.

(, Mon 27 Mar 2017, 0:25, , Reply)
This is a normal post Question from a non-cyclist here
When filtering through slow moving traffic why are you passing cars next to the curb? Where you're moving in the drivers blind spot, the road condition is shit, filled with rubbish, drains, car doors being opened by passengers etc.

Rather than on the other side where drivers are looking out for filtering traffic because that's where all the motor bikes are coming down.

Those pathetic cunts are probably moving to the kerb to make way for them.

This is a normal post I always drive my push-bike down the middle of the road, so at least I can be seen
but the dog-in-the-manger wankers still pull out to try and stop me passing. If they resent being overtaken by a bike, why don't they get a bike themselves.
(, Mon 27 Mar 2017, 9:00, , Reply)
This is a normal post Well that's different, not seen that on my travels but people can be cunts.
Also a great way to lose a wing mirror.
(, Mon 27 Mar 2017, 9:25, , Reply)
This is a normal post It`s not just bikes
Those wankers just hate being overtaken. They are the ones on the motorway who sit at 70mph but who will speed up to 110mph just to stop you getting past them. If you fall behind they will slow to 70mph, sometimes 60mph, if you get past them they will want to drive at silly speeds in an attempt to get you behind them again. If you get away, you can slow back to 70mph and they never catch you up...

Wankers.

This is a normal post That's assuming that there's more space on that side of the cars, which isn't always the case.
In that situation, I'd rather cycle curbside and have cars leave sufficient space for a bicycle to pass (which I'd expect them to do if they were moving normally) than cycle against fast on-coming traffic with little clearance space. It also means I'm not having to try to cross in front of cars if they start moving at normal speed or I need to turn left.
(, Mon 27 Mar 2017, 9:15, , Reply)
This is a normal post How much space are you expecting cars to leave you?
If it's a safe passing amount the cars in the oncoming lane.

And if you're having trouble crossing in front of cars moving at normal speed or you're turning left what you've done is started an overtaking procedure without reading the road ahead.

This is a normal post Using the distance that a standard set of double yellow lines are from the kerb on UK roads as a reference,
I can usually pass a stationary or slow-moving car easily if its wing mirror is outside the outer line, as I can partially overhang the curb with my left handlebar (my bike has pretty standard width riser handlebars with bar ends added).

I cycle in traffic a lot and will not ride down the middle of the road unless it is strictly necessary.

This is a normal post I got knocked off my bike going at walking pace on the other side in heavy traffic
driver decided to pull a u-turn from stationary without checking his right wing mirror or looking over his shoulder, despite me shouting at him and waving my arms frantically.

This is a normal post Well that's a terrible driver then.
Could you not take any avoiding action?

This is a normal post I avoided going under the stupid cunt's wheels
There was nowhere for me to go as there were cars queuing behind him. I was virtually stationary at point of impact, praying he would just turn his head and look in the direction he was driving his car

This is a normal post Some jurisdictions explicitly allow passing stationary/traffic stuck vehicles from the curbside by bicycles.

This is a normal post I like this idea
It seems we are working towards a chorus of "Don`t run the red lights you twats! pay attention to the road and the other users! Don`t be a dick!"

I think it will be a winner.

This is a normal post Well, I'm not familiar with the regulations in this case, but some bike paths/lanes have right of way by default.

This is a normal post So you'd expect car drivers to politely toot their horn and ask people to step aside if they were walking in the road?
I take my lead from the Dutch regarding my attitude to people who walk in cycle lanes.
