This is a normal post Used to really like that film.
Until I found out it was intended to be an anti war film and all the plants are fake.

This is a normal post I never got over the fact that Full Metal Jacket was filmed on the Isle of Dogs.
In one shot you can actually see that some plants are in pots. I'm also fairly sure that a helicopter scene is filmed flying over Romney Marsh. Really ruins it for me.
