This is a normal post A pangram is a legible sentence. He might have used all the letters of the alphabet in the crossword answers, but this isn't a pangram
and because it doesn't have to be legible, it's hardly a "staggering achievement" in any sense of the phrase. One could simply use a rough distribution to come close to the the total, then use an online crossword solver to suggest answers out of the remaining letters needed to complete the alphabetical set (one giveaway in Scrabble that somebody is using a online solver is the use of uncommon spelling variations. The BBC use Haj, not Hajj http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p059893n). The difficulty in a pangram is making legibility in the minimum amount of letters, which this conveniently avoids being a collection of unconnected words.
