something about it giving depth and context to an image that we have grown to just know as 'an image'
but its they way he's standing, the way it is so similar but so different. It wouldn't have had the same effect if he was in any other position.

Good point, hadn't really thought through his position.
I think it's added a massively unfamiliar dimension to a massively familiar icon. Maybe.
