This is a normal post ok then.... define pleasure?
I'd consider it pleasurable to be able to get out of bed after being ill..
(, Fri 16 Nov 2012, 10:30, , Reply)
This is a normal post would you upload a video of you doing that to Youtube because you got such a kick out of it?
Going out of your way to kill something in an extreme way, videoing it and showing it to people is a definite tick on the checkbox for a psychopath

Getting out of bed, much less so

This is a normal post aaaaaalso...
it's not the deriving pleasure from the action that is the problem... it's the derivation of pleasure from people watching him do it?
(, Fri 16 Nov 2012, 10:39, , Reply)
This is a normal post No it's both
Gaining pleasure from killing things is fucked up
Do it out of necessity (food, defence etc) but not shits and giggles

This is a normal post how do we know he's gaining pleasure from it?
maybe he's just experimenting with the irradiation of the ants from his property...

I'm not saying he's NOT enjoying it... just giving a possible alternate scenario.

or just two opinions on an internet site?

This is a normal post but because these opinions are diametrically opposed, it makes it an argument...
now you're just changing the basis for said discussion...

This is a normal post When I burn down churches and schools
I get pleasure from seeing the fire pixies dance into the air, rather than the thought of the organisms I have killed. But the police and CPS still try and charge me regardless. Bastards

This is a normal post right...
so killing bacteria doesn't lead the perpetrator on to killing ants... but killing ants leads to killing children and church goers?!

who knew!

This is a normal post You silly thing.
It's not quite the same is it?

Treating life threatening single-celled bacteria for the prevention of disease is not quite the same as videoing the blowing up of a multi-celled, sentient, highly social animal's nest for the purposes of entertainment.

This is a normal post Oh, so we've moved the argument onto semantics and technicalities already?
I think my point was clear without having to spell out the difference between eukaryotic and prokaryotic organisms.

I think I'll leave it there.

I'm not drawing any moral lines, I just think it takes a certain kind of person get pleasure from intentionally causing suffering for entertainment.

This is a normal post I have to agree....
I have just seen some pictures on facebook of a kid being cruel to a dog, one of him burying it up to its neck so it couldn't move. My blood is boiling. I didnt quite feel as passionate about some ants being blown up but I still dont think people should do this.

well if you'd said that the first time, there'd be no argument.

You said 'organisms',and that's what people responded to.

Construct your argument properly if you don't want it picked apart.
