I remember a Ricky Gervais XFM show (back in about 2002)...
...where Gervais and Merchant wound Carl up by telling him about crabs being able to 'see' the memories of their ancestors by eating the silica on the beach that their ancestors had pooed out. I remember trying not to crash my car as I listened to it.
Then Gervais went shit, Merchant whored his regional accent out to advertise Barclays, Carl got his own TV show, and a great little radio show was fucked up the arse :(
