This is a normal post Really? I found the second one quite amusing.
Mostly because I've had it happen to me about fifty times, and I know how much it hurts when your flaps land on a submerged rock.

This is a normal post Was going to say -
Ursula is a total leg end.
It's a shame there aren't many female sci-fi authors out there - I think that our culture currently promotes it as a male-dominated genre, meaning fewer writers with breasts get into it in the first place. Then again, many writers will choose asexual pen names in order to avoid certain preconceptions about their gender's ability to rite gud. It may be that some of the stuff you read has a man's name on it, but that the writer stashed beef curtains - not a pork sword - in their trousers when the book was written.

This is a normal post Connie Willis!
I had forgotten her, I read "To say nothing of the dog" years ago and really enjoyed it.

"The Handmaid's Tale" by Maragret Attwood is good Sci-Fi too, but in a 1984 rather than 2001 style.
