This is a normal post I'm not sure I've "swallowed" anything
but hiding in an embassy 'cos you don't want to go through the legal process isn't a great look

This is a normal post You probably wouldn't be alive if you'd never swallowed anything:)
It depends on your viewpoint on the allegations against assange I think.

Clearly the public can't know for certain if he's guilty or not But whatever your stance you have to acknowledge that its highly coincidental that very soon after pissing off the governments of some of the most powerful countries on earth, he is accused of crimes that not only damage his reputation but also carry a long jail sentence. *IF* using that logic, you look at the charges as politically motivated, then he actually doing an important thing in highlighting his cause and refusing to co-operate.

In those circumstances, its unsurprising that he doesn't want to go through the legal process.

This is a normal post that's a long string of assumptions from a co-incidence
and co-incidences are just that aren't they? a co-incidence.

All smacks of 'my high falutin' principles are so terribly important that mere laws don't apply to me' with a healthy dose of really over estimating his importance.

But that's just me.

This is a normal post Not that long a string of assumptions
More of a statement that there is an alternative viewpoint to the narrative that fits in very well with the agenda of the establishment.

And if you take that alternative viewpoint then his actions don't seem that unreasonable.

My original point was that its depressing that so many people have just accepted the idea that he is dodgy and a rapist without questioning how this stuation may have been made to come about.

This is a normal post
there is a process to getting to the bottom of whether he's a rapist.

He appears determined to not take it.

And you find it depressing that people think he's 'dodgy'?

My only point - because I find all of these conspiracy theories terribly dull, was that hiding from the law looks really terrible whoever is doing it.

This is a normal post 3 different credible sources have confirmed there is a grand jury indictment against Assange, but you don't let that influence your blind hatred of him

The leaking military secrets are normally taken seriously.

This is a normal post well, this is another argument, but unrelated to the one I was rebutting

This is a normal post blind hatred?
try mild interest.

fucksake. Where do you get blind hatred from? Questioning something you believe very strongly in? Grow up.

Let me be clear as crystal.

Hiding from the law is a rubbish PR move. The end.

Jesus!

This is a normal post Like Bradley Manning's "Legal Process"?
9 month in solitary naked facing towards a bright light getting woken every hour on the hour. And he has yet to be convicted of anything.
Yes, I can't see any reason why Assange wouldn't want to avoid this. Is he a coward?
(, Wed 12 Dec 2012, 12:51, Reply)
This is a normal post just saying
that it makes him look terrible.
(, Wed 12 Dec 2012, 12:56, Reply)
This is a normal post Assange isn't under arrest, hasn't being under arrest, wasn't and isn't in custody, doesn't fall under military jurisdiction
So not really similar. Manning has my pity, wikileaks barely mention him as it's become a personality cult which thrives not on truth but fears... perfect material for a politician.

This is a normal post ah well, first people like you talk nothing about his cause and only about his character
then accuse it of being a personality cult.

This is a normal post But he's wanted in Sweden.
And Sweden is much less likely to extradite to the US than is the UK - or Ecuador, for that matter.
