There's no conspiracy.
Some politicians wanted to be re-elected, some wanted oil, some wanted to show off their pricy military machine, etc.
The US also felt threatened and invaded Afghanistan because there was cause given, it was weak, and there was international approval.
Its basic realist politics. No morality.

the americanss started bombing, then the international community gave its approval.it was 12 years ago, so you memory can be forgiven for getting this important distinction wrong..

I meant something along the lines of 'international goodwill'.
In international politics, the US can't just do what it likes without considering the reaction from China and other States.
