This is a normal post Hmmmm
The price is a fucking huge difference. The graphics card alone for a top of the range PC gaming machine would cost the price of a top of the line console. And for that you're getting something that you can pick up and play, and not have to install loads of bollocks, that's gotta count for something.

Plus there's been talk of the next gen consoles being pretty awesome.

This is a normal post Plus something that
a) Doesn't get viruses, b) Isn't a multipurpose device, c) has a kid proof interface, d) doesn't take up more than a little space under the TV.

I love PC gaming but consoles have a totally acceptable place in the living/play room. A PC lives in a study (or a geeks bedroom).

This is a normal post Yeah size is a massive factor
my desktop PC sounds like a hand dryer, leaves your ears ringing after a whole day of sitting near it.

This is a normal post Water cooling pretty much eliminates noise if that bothers you.
My PC is no noisier than my old Xbox 360.

Virus wise, well common sense deals with that.
Price? Sure my graphics card cost around £380
However games on pc are much cheaper and that's
not even counting steam sales.

Speaking of steam, they're creating a tv friendly interface.
I'll build a steam box rather than splash nearly £500 on a locked console.
PS3 Linux anyone?
