Not bad.
I didn't actually realise 6 music was anything like that old! Digital radio seems quite new, still.

I like 6 music lots
But this could be summarised as "Vote now for the best mediocre track from some of these bands that used to be great"

I agree it's very average
The only really good solo Morrissey is 'Every Day is Like Sunday' though, and that's too old. I assume all the Moz fans have decided that's the best of a mediocre bunch.

oh nonononono.
Tomorrow/Last of the famous international playboys/the more you ignore me, the closer I get/Glamorous Glue/Interlude...there's been plenty of very fine Morrissey singles. Just as many shit ones, an nothing of note in the last decade, but still.

...and if (when) Elbow get it for The Most Over-rated Song Of Ever, then I shall not be responsible for my actions.

it's hardly shocking
to create these polls you need to find the average

I can't understand why they've avoided Artists' best songs.

Mmm tough one.
There's nothing that really stands out as a ball breaking tune of the last ten years for me though. So I'll either go for Radiohead or Animal Collective.

Yeah, a lot of those bands have released better things that i've liked in that time.
Still, looking through there are some great tracks in there, maybe not groundbreaking (if that's what you mean) but just lovely tracks.

Yeah, it's all good really.
As a list of artists to hear on a radio station is all pretty damn good. With the exception perhaps of Coldplay and La roux.
EDIT - No, I meant ball breaking. As in something that grabs you by the balls and squeezes 'em real tight. Like Teen Spirit. But, not that obviously. But something like that. Maybe I'm just getting old. I'm pining for the 90s.

Can't remember the last time i heard something that really grabbed me on the radio to be honest.
There are some toe-tappers in there though, matter of opinion/taste i guess, as you say, the artists on there are good enough promotion for Radio 6 as a station.
I listen to a local station here, it's fucking brilliant, played loads of local bands that have gone on to be pretty big, they never say who they're playing or have just played though, it's really fucking frustrating!!!

Inane chatter?

Hardly anything, hardly hear any of them, easiest job ever.
The only one you hear anything from is some guy who can't get a child minder so brings his kid along, he only says anything as you sense his kid's getting bored and he has to keep him amused, occasionally you'll hear a mic come on half way through a track and the little kid saying random stuff until his dad realises and turns the mic off quickly.
