They made an LP of one minute songs called The Commercial Album.
To premiere it they bought ad slots on the radio and thus got the whole LP played. These are videos the made for three of the songs.
The good thing about having eyeballs for heads is that they never age.

You might not like their music - the singer's voice is quite er..unique - but the whole story of The Residents is amazing and inspiring

I bloody love The Residents.
I still regularly play "The Commercial Album", more than 25 years after buying it from "Our Price" in Oxford.

Yep, Duck Stab/Buster & Glen still really holds up well too.
And Kaw-Liga too.

Indeed. I think I have Duckstab as a coloured 7" somewhere.
Mad that they're still releasing stuff. Their facebook feed is most amusing.

There's a longtime coming doc film out soon - looks a bit celebrity endorsement-packed for my liking but still.
It does include Graeme Whiffler who made the films, among many other associates.
Will post the Residents Radio Show one of these days, the perfect introduction (well, it was to me)

I think I still have bits of their nuclear teflon labels stuck on some of my albums.
