That reminds me - genuinely the scariest game I ever played on PC was the original SCP 087. Partially because it was an absolute fucking masterclass in minimalist design and building tension, and partially because it was an exe buried in a zip file from a sketchy download site.

This is a normal post The original scp foundation site has some amazing stuff.
My favourite was the case study describing the four coloured mirror/portal and the subsequent explorations.

This is a normal post I like that one as well.
But the Staircase is the one that I always go back to. (That one spawned games too, as it happens.)
