Sounds fun if...
You're the kind of person who likes Google keeping pictures of everywhere you point your phone at all times, cached against reports of your location and what you're doing.

This is a (not so) clever way of forcing people into getting location based ads pushed to their phones, by making it "fun" to give over all their information.
