Awesome
Gonna need to watch Event Horizon again. Much like TimeCop, StarGate and other high concept 90s sci fi films I can't remember if it's actually any good.

Event Horizon actually is.
Shame about the crappy techno over the end credits. But still a decent and genuinely scary film.

I think the part when they are flying through Neptune's atmosphere and almost crash in to the (huge) EH is great
but it just gets silly when everyone starts going mad

The build up is better than the payoff.
Great model work in the film, though. Still looks very good.

Yes I remember that shot gliding over the ship at the start with the thundering planet behind it looking particularly awesome

Oh. Well, it seemed out of place.
Slow building dread and suspense doesn't really mesh with laser-reaching rave.

I wasted
96 minutes of my life watching EH.
Might have been better if Sam Neill wasn't such a plank.

I liked it until the dinosaurs started eating everyone and made David Attenborough upset.

Maybe I was a bit harsh EH...
but I had hoped it would be better. I was disappoint when it turned out to be little more than a scary gorefest with an SF backdrop.

watched the film a couple of days ago, more enjoyable than I remembered.
Hammered Horror had a good episode about the film.

That film really was complete arse
Saw it in the cinema. Any good will it created with the effects it killed with its leaden acting, bad direction and nonsensical plot. The director Paul W S Anderson went on to have a successful career directing cinematic turds that people paid to watch for some reason.
