i felt that the phrase 'for whatever reason' and its associated over exaggerated hand gestures could have been elaborated on somewhat, preferably without such dismissive hand gestures. you know, a bit of science maybe.

but cheese late at night gives me vivid dreams, sometimes nightmares. People have been saying so forever, but I heard there is nothing in cheese that could trigger this.

No science to it like you say, but it does to me so I imagine its placebo turning something off in my brain as I KNOW it works, so it therefore does? Like prayers and religion but tastier.
