Tom Hanks' cameo on 'Breaking Bad'.
Unbeknownst to most, he made an appearance in Series 1.

Haha, wow, that is quite a laugh.
Threadjack: Does anyone have a tinfoil hat I can borrow? I just discovered something a little shocking, and I'm not easily shocked.
Google for "Iceland". Flip over to google's "news". Some things on supermarkets, nasty Iceland banks putting up interest rates AGAIN etc.
Now change your search to "Iceland overthrow government". You'll see there is no applicable news for this. About 5 links of rubbish. No coverage. Nothing. Flip over to "web", and you'll see there are plenty of websites covering this.
But then something further...the "news" link/filter has now disappeared. Search for anything else, it comes back.

Given that I was there less than a month ago
You'd think I might have heard something about this when talking to the locals. After all, revolutions are not the sort of information that slips under the radar.

Well, having never been to Iceland, I can't really comment...
I can only go on what I read on the internet, hence I'm self-consciously wearing a pointy, shiny hat this morning and sitting in the corner while I type.. but I read things like this - cac.ophony.org/2012/04/16/the-icelandic-revolution-why-didnt-i-hear-about-it/ - and wonder.

That's not a revolution
Firstly, this was in 2008, why are people only interested in it now?
Removing one political party and installing another within the same government framework isn't a revolution. We've had governments collapse in the past and that wasn't considered a revolution. Why in this case?
Nationalising the banks. Wow. That's unheard of. Except that we did it with Northern Rock, Lloyds, RBS, HBOS and I'm sure there were others.
Its viewing things through a particularly skewed filter to say there was a revolution over there. I was also there in 2008 and 2009 and at no point did anyone call it a revolution. You therefore have to ask what particular axe are the people writing that article grinding, and it looks like the same tired old anti-establishment tinfoil crap to me.

I wasn't aware we nationalised our banks
I thought we kept them private and threw money at them and shuffled their boards around a little bit until they said "sorry, we promise to not fuck up again, here, let us help you write the govt policies that will definitely stop us fucking up again". Interested now? I only found out about it now. That was my concern.

Also, I'd suggest that people are getting more interested now
because they are now noticing that Iceland's economy is doing rather well and wondering what they've done differently.

Did we get our money back and not told?
*checks bank account*
Also Ireland owes us a few quid, how are they doing?

hahaha, what am I, your Googling monkey??
I have no idea. Since when did good news make the headlines, anyway? You'd have to do a bit of digging to find out what actually happened next. Let me know what you find :-)

Did you get as far as this bit?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nationalisation_of_Northern_Rock#Eventual_return_to_the_private_sector
It was sold to Virgin for a song, after we taxpayers plumped it up nicely (Or promised to, by way of borrowing money to give it and increasing our national debt)

Was it nationalised?
Yes it was.
As were Kaupthing, Glitnir, and Landsbanki. Of those the first two have had their assets returned to private ownership and the third is undergoing that process.

Mmhm, that's it.
The reason Iceland's revolution wasn't mentioned in the news is entirely because we're being fed near-lies and lies about Syria and Iran in order to keep us under control and not at all because it didn't actually happen.

yes the news is not at all sensationalised, so that it focuses on war over say economic reform
see i can misconstrue your words as well.

news/links seems to disappear when you click back to "web" from "news" when searching for anything
Try the same when searching for "test" - news "disappears" but is still available in the "more" sub menu
But the rest of your post still stands, very very odd

Yeah, I take that bit back...
now I've done some other searches, I found "news" disappears if there would otherwise only be a few links, or even if you search for "cheese". It seems to have a mind of its own.

I heard the best plan is to accelerate directly towards the centre,
so the combined acceleration forces you through and out of its "twin" the other side, though you may suffer some serious time dilation and possibly pick up some debris and hitchhikers from Hell as you pass through.
