Just something you can dip in and out of when you fancy it.
It's all about backstory, and 'series arcs' now.

I think person of Interest is the closest thing to this kind of show, but even that has backstory taking up valuable punch up/car chase/gun fight time

(admittedly on their weaker than weak drivetime show)

had some tax bod from some tax specialist co (was it kpmg?) arguing that poor Starbucks' had consistently made a loss in the UK and therefore paying no tax was fair. The interviewer just wasn't equipped at all to argue how the flow of money might be engineered in such a way to make this look plausable, and completely missed the point that if they make 1% profit (as he admitted "some" of the shops do), 20% of whatever the real number/amount for that should still be payable.

This is a normal post I use Apple stuff, kind of have to really.
It may come across as a witch hunt but i think if any company is robbing stuff they should be forced to pay, i'm sure it happens all the time but Apple are so big (and therefore considered 'evil' by some people) they make the news.

If someone robbed my stuff, or your stuff, i'm sure you'd want some kind of compensation and acknowledgement.

(, Tue 13 Nov 2012, 11:50, , Reply)
This is a normal post There is a level of smugness.
That's probably because it's like the bully at school who always robbed kids' dinner money and always gets away with it, then one day a teacher clocks them at it, they get taken to heel for it and everyone is happy to see them get what they deserve.

To be fair, i think apple have probably made a lot of money by ripping off a lot of people who can't afford to take them to heel for it (obviously they aren't the only company to have done this), throwing their weight around and so on, so when someone can afford to pull them up on it and does it's just good to see.
