Oh god yes!
I love that stylised thing they do in old musicals: they're in Rio...no they're not they're in the biggest nightclub the world has ever seen! Spielberg nicked that idea for the opening of Temple of Doom.

Knew some people who lived there and stayed at their place a few years back. If I were writing a tourist guide, I'd use the phrase 'violent shithole' as a teaser headline and then go on to advise not going there at night and escaping as quickly as you possible can. Fucking awful place.

one of the most inventive things I've seen in a loooong time to come out of US Comedy, and they still nicked the whole harry potter thing!
It's like they put a shitload of random things into a hat and picked out two, reminds me of a South Park episode where they took the piss out of Family Guy comedy writing.
Still, really funny, very well executed. MOAR!

oscar fucking wilde? ooh you flatter me, you smooth talker
but really, that's going too far. what do you want from me? money? sex? it's all going so quickly *flutters eyelashes*
but seriously, I think comparing Sacha Baron Cohen to Jim Davidson seems like a retarded thing to do.
that's not me saying you're a retard.
I'm free to discuss this, and at a length that will get us both bored and wish we hadn't bothered.
haha
internets comments, gotta love them
so the basis of my argument (and the mention of Chris Morris too) stems from the anger that I get when people miss the point of some comedians.
it's like saying "oh Kris Rocks bit about niggers is so racist" and getting all up in arms over it, in a Daily Mail kinda way
So when you compared him to Jim Davidson (who I personally find really offensive as his 'humour' appeals to the inner fears and hatred of people lacking any understanding of race/ immigration/ other people/ humanity/ love etc.) I couldn't believe it. Borat does get jokes from the funny accents, sure, but the real humour I think, is the peoples reactions to a 'silly foreigner' and I believe it comes from a place of compassion. Borat is a likeable character, despite his 'failings' He's just showing how ignorant people can be.
Where-as Davidson just says "they're different, they're stupid, they take our jobs, they've no place in 'our' country, haha, look at the paki, he smells and eats different food, isn't he worth derision" and it comes from a place of hate.
so to conclude
Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go.

I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying.
haha, sorry I'm being a dick, but I hope it's at least a bit funny

He was a dick at school mind
He just wandered around doing stupid voices and bad 'ghetto' impressions. Basically he was a jewish Ali G most of the time - He was also a bit a cnut and a bully to the younger kinds.
In fact both him and Matt Lucas were pricks at school now I think about it - Matt Lucas was the only person in the school allowed to wear a cap because he was bald.
David Baddiel was also at the same school but was a few years older; I once inherited one of his history books which had annotations all over the pictures and was f*cking hilarious. I lost it in one of my many house moves years later.

I thought of this feature years ago back playing Halo on the original xbox.
I can only imagine that it's not common place because it takes too many cpu cycles to render the 3d audio of all the players.
Or someones sitting on a patent.

Loads of people have been developing this in various ways, Dolby have a system too.
But frankly I reckon not a lot of people would want it in a multiplayer FPS. If they want to talk to people, they want to just assume that they'll be heard, without having to go round the corner to find them.
It might make more sense in a game like Planetside, which is a sprawling MMO environment.

Something like this happens in Left 4 Dead 2.
In The Parish section, if you're using in-game chat during the storm you cannot be heard unless you stay close together. Think it happens in the levels near the sugar plantation, too. Used to piss me off so I used Steam Chat instead.

London is a bit pricey but I've not yet been stung for a £5 pint in a pub yet.
Also, London's got a growing selection of boozers that sell delicious, micro-brewed ales. None of that fizzy Tuborg nonsense :)
I'm not knocking Iceland (never been there - insert supermarket joke [here]) but I'm a big fan of Norway. Heading there next week, and January to hopefully see some Northern Lights, and to get stitched £14 for a pint in Tromso.

Well there's the thing
I was in Reykjavik at the start of the month and I never paid £10 a pint. £7 was the closest I came, which if you go drinking with a Hoegaarden drinker like I do isn't that far off London prices.
Tromso sounds like a giggle though. Its on the list of places to visit...
