Technically it's an armoured car not a tank
It's also a death trap made by someone that saw a drawing of a tank once but no real experience of how armour plating works.

You think that would stop anything other than fire from a small hand gun?
Because from the rust you're talking iron or steel.
Not any of your fancy composits or explosive armour.
and unless they crammed in a serious engine in there it's not that thick.

Great animation - the fusion between your style and Der Fuhrer's electro-ravings is sublime.
Have to say, more than a touch of a "They Might Be Giants" feel to the music here, which is no bad thing either.

this is one of those tunes that got ruined by compilation albums as they'd cut most of the silent bit during the editing and it's the silent bit carries the drama of the tune. I have the full version on vinyl though

I'm surprised that Instagram isn't dead yet anyway.
Ultimately, it is a novelty, and most web toys have a very short life before people get bored of them.
Their ban on Twitter is also incredibly self-destructive, as people are going to have far more loyalty to a social site with friends on it than a site where you can host photos and make them look jaundiced.

I never had Omnibot
but I did have the mid-range one, Verbot. You controlled it by recording your voice saying the command you wanted it to do, and it was fucking useless. I also went through loads of those 1 million dollar pens, despite the price tag, could I prevent myself from losing them? No.
edit: OMG, the travel sickness wrist bands, I knew I hadn't imagined those. Yeah, you could buy them, OR you could simply press your fingers into your wrist now that you've figured out that this is all that the wrist band does.

Anybody remember "Nu Shooz"?
This is "I Can't Wait", which I think was their only hit. I even remember this one, due to the mildly annoying pitchshifting. Thought I'd share it all with you, been stuck in my head since I heard it on Energy FM (that's right, Shoutcast still exists).
edit: typically 80's weird video too.

Well most of this is correct..
Don't go out in zone 1, its for tourist, idiots and twats. Avoid commuter cyclists, they're all insane law breaking, dangerous tossers. Clapham is full of trendy twunts and the East End/Canary Wharf gets a huge inlfux of Essex idiots every evening/weekend.
Still the best city in the world though; Just take a walk through it at 4.30am on a summer morning. Its amazing. Triply so without the people.

The thing is
London is massive. For everything that's shit about it, there are loads of things that are good. When you live here, if you've got any sense, you work that out and you make the best of the good bits, and ignore the shit. In other cities you don't have as much scope to do that.
And it still amazes me how Vice Magazine (written by cunts, for cunts) can continue to take the piss out of exactly the sort of people who read it.

if you know your way around. He is right when he says that the weird thing about London is that most Londoners aren't from there. That gives it a very strange feeling to me. I rarely feel uncomfy there though.
Strangely, the city that scared me most ever was San Fransisco, which was a shame because I wanted to love it.

Yeah
I felt the same about San Francisco. I did really like it, but I didn't feel comfortable in a lot of places. Very compartmentalised so that you felt like you were in Chinatown, or a shopping area, or a gay area, or (on a couple of occasions) a terrifying area full of the dodgiest of the dodgy. It wasn't jumbled up the way London is (not that there aren't divisions and ghettos here).

I can't really say
what it was about SF, but I just got the creeps about it. I expected that to happen in LA, but that was just a city with traffic jams. No underlying 'feeling', if that makes sense.

The amercian homeless let down SF (and most US cities)
Nearly every one of them should be in some kind of care establishment but because of the third world/right wing welfare/drugs policy, every single one of them is on the street wandering around muttering and shouting to themselves, threatening passers-by. Its a lot better in this country (even if we do still have too many homeless).

I lived there for 14 years and LOVED London
and then hated it in equal measure.
its combination of ambition, paranoia and isolation can make it really hard work, day in, day out
but it's still got some places of pure joy and creativity and good vibes.
Much prefer living in Bristol though. prettier, friendlier, cheaper, smaller and easier to get around (a fuck load), safer, closer to the countryside, merrier, politer, more generous, and possibly more tolerant.
plus it won an award praising it's city centre for not being too stabby stabby. Win!

There's a bit in 'Absolute Beginners'
by Colin McInnes (which is great, by the way), where the narrator, a teenage mod in the fifties, takes a taxi ride along the Embankment: "And as I gazed out on the water like a mouth, a bed, a sister, I thought how, my God, I love this city, horrible though it may be, and never ever want to leave it, come what it may send me."
I think a lot of people feel like that
