I'd love to do it
but it almost doesn't look like fun just because of the sheer amount of knobs and levers that need to be pulled, presumably in a certain order which you need to remember. On top of that you need to not get lost.
I'd fail on both of these tests.

like scalextric? tried TCR? want something that doesnt need slots?
This then is the one for you.
upto 15 other radio controled cars on a 7inch wide track no slots
basicly they embed some piano wire in a base board in the shape of the track you want and then the magnets in the cars hold to wire but still allow you to change lane and to crash of etc

Munitions are made from depleted Uranium. DEPLETED.
The health issues are real, but are due to its toxic nature as a heavy metal, not from ionising radiation. Depleted uranium is used as radioactive SHIELDING in hospitals and as ballast for boats.

Its health concerns are NOT unknown
otherwise why would they use them??
Plus if they were completely depleted they wouldn't be visible. All of the particles would of decayed.

FYI, they have 60% of the radioactivity of normal Uranium.

It's health concerns became known
In the Gulf War, not before.
They used them because depleted uranium is better at penetrating armour. If the health effects were the objective they'd have used highly fissile uranium or even plutonium.
Isotopes are not magically invisible.
Feel free to climb off your moral high horse any time.

I'm actually on my factual high horse
it's pretty fucking obvious that Uranium is bad for you which is the entire reason why it was used in the first place. Are you suggesting they accidentally discovered that it came with long term side effects? The effects of radiation poisoning have been known for a long time, way before the Gulf War.

I appreciate and applaud your devotion to a general anti-war stance.
But going on about this is not productive. The wiki site you provided states that depleted uranium (DU) has 60% of the radioactivity of normal, natural uranium you would find in the ground, which is virtually indistinguishable from background radiation (the level which we are exposed to all the time).
If you walked down the high street with a Geiger counter, you would be hard pressed to see any difference in the readings if you were to pass by a skip full of uranium, even less so for DU. Radioactivity is just not an issue where DU as a weapon is concerned - it was chosen entirely because it is both very dense (and thus great for slamming into armoured targets) and there are shedloads of it lying about for next to nothing thanks to the nuclear energy and weapons programs.
Yes, it is toxic - I wouldn't want to handle any without protective gear - and yes, bits of it flake off the used bullets and cause horrible diseases. But that is because of its high chemical reactivity (not radioactivity) and toxicity as a heavy metal, just like lead or mercury.
DU is a battlefield weapon for use against armoured targets. Nobody would choose a bullet for its potential to caue a slow and debilitating illness, that would be completely pointless in such a context.

But do those figures take into account the VAT on the fireworks and what the 250,000 people spend who go to watch that goes into the economy? Don't get me wrong, I still think it is a waste of money, but balance and all that.

I don't know about there,
But you'll probably find that like here, the cost of the fireworks is mostly paid for by corporate sponsors of the NYE festivities than by government.
So any griping about the cost is an exercise in futility, as if there were none, then it's not like that amount would be freed to be spent on facilities or services. Plus, as mentioned above, you wouldn't have the income and tax generated by people in and around the city for the event.

Let's ban the fireworks!
Then we can be poor AND miserable! Heaven forbid we spend our money on anything that could bring a little bit of joy into people's lives!
Seriously, 2 million is a piddling little drop in the ocean of the welfare and public sector wage bills.

The solution isn't to ban them.
The solution is to make sure everyone has fireworks.

Seriously though, what's the solution to dealing with the spamcunts? Just banning each new alias only really creates work for the mods.

I know that I'd be pissed off if this pushed something that I'd been working on off the page.
As it is, I'm an unproductive fucker so this won't effect me. I can empathise with talented people who it would though.
I wouldn't say that I care much but just enough to give it some passing thought. It's an online community and so I guess users have different expectations of what they should give and take from it.
