I dunno, they jump to a lot of weird conclusions,
I looked up those grave liners, they're not for "four bodies", the coffin goes in the liner, it's to stop the ground collapsing after the wooden coffin rots away. You can buy them online, the plastic ones are actually the expensive ones, a strange choice if they are for use in mass graves.
Nevertheless the Government does have secrets. They always do. And the US Government has form for doing ethically dubious things.

Sometimes paranoia is right. Personally I think it's as dangerous trust the Government too much, as too little. We need people to ask these kinds of questions. Just preferably not mentalists.

called 'Gothic' by Richard Davenport-Hines (get me, eh?), and there's a quote somewhere near the front which I think is very true. It's something like: "The Gothic aesthetic attracts many practitioners who have no understanding of the subtlety and wit of its best examples. In other words, an enormous amount of 'Gothic' output is trite and worthless. "
Came into my head when watching this video, for some reason, I dunno why...

You make a lot of assumptions in your rage. This started because white, middle class people were killed. Why are you not angry when thousands of black men, women and children are killed?
Why were you not outraged when the current US administration allowed assault rifles into Mexico, resulting in the deaths of thousands of brown skinned people and at least one federal agent?
Why are you not outraged that over 500 homicides happened in Chicago last year, to a majority of black victims, but also a place with the strictest of gun control?
You can fester and spew all you want. And you really cross a line when you accuse me of liking death. You would not survive a moment where I grew up. Yes, my life has been saved more than once by a gun. But the gangs and cartels will not disarm, no matter how many times you weep or wring your hands.
Selfish.

My point is that where the most murders with guns happen are places where guns are illegal.
Maybe we should give the mother of a kid trying to avoid gangs the opportunity to prevent a home invasion that leaves her son dead and her raped.
You may not care about race, but I certainly do. Black men are disproportionately victims of homicide. The media seems to ignore such murders unless a white person is involved.

more race based distraction tactics, you clearly don't have a leg to stand on
what if it was a white kid avoiding a white gang home invasion
How big a gun should that child be entitled to to defend himself against lets say 5 imaginary intruders?
What if the kids attacking only have knives? should the kid put the gun away first or should he give them guns too to make things even?
What if the kids attacking don't enter the property but shoot at it with a rocket launcher, should the poor kid (black or white) get government funding for anti rocket defences and maybe some rpgs of his own?
the solution is remove them all, not give out more.

Race is not a distraction. Look at the statistics: non-whites suffer most. May not mean anything to you.
Why should anyone, black or white, have to suffer the trauma of a home invasion? If someone is using a knife, that is lethal force. I would shoot him because if you're trying to kill, you don't get to determine the response. (It's like the old movies where the tough guy got beat up by a karate dude and said that kicking was "girlie". The best practice is not to mess with another human to make yourself look tough or you could end up dead).
Again, if you can remove all guns from the world, guarantee that the cartels and gangs are disarmed and that the currently porous borders of the US will not allow any further gun transfers from profiteers in other countries, then we have a starting point.

I'm trying to find out. I got this so far:
Is gun theft a part of the illegal gun problem?
Yes, gun theft is one of the ways guns are diverted to the illegal market. The ATF reports that over 13,000 guns are lost or stolen from dealers nationwide each year. Estimates show that as many as 32% of crime guns are acquired through theft.5 6

It just so happens that due to social ills and long-standing inequalities in the US (and UK) that non-whites are more likely to be born into deprivation and poverty.

I don't want to disparage your efforts and I think we in the UK lead relatively sheltered lives and don't really appreciate the sort of fear you encounter every day, nevertheless I don't think "more guns" is the answer to any of these problems.
As your lot say, "guns don't kill people, people do," well, that's true, they kill people WITH guns though, but I suppose ultimately it's poverty and broken society that kills people.

What has gang-avoidance got to do with anything? How does a made-up example establish any point of principle?
And, yes: black men are disproportionately the victims of homicide, and the press is much more bothered by dead white people. That's worrying. But it's also unclear why it's relevant here.

My emotional reaction is to put a lot of blame on easy-to-buy guns,
but the data I've seen does seem to suggest violent crime is far more to do with poverty.
If America banned guns, I'm sure they would still have a very high homicide rate until they start caring about people on the bottom of society.

If the latter, then I take issue with the definition of "elite".
But I don't think I get the point you're trying to make - Are you suggesting that gun control will only leave the "elite" protected?
If only the police and army have guns, will they only protect celebrities and politicians?

Many leaders in the US have armed bodyguards; their children go to school with armed bodyguards.
Celebrities often have armed bodyguards; their children go to school with armed bodyguards. I understand the rationale, but when they turn around and say that same privilege should not be extended to the common man, I think that is wrong. Their children's lives are not more precious than mine.

But isn't there something rather odd
about taking the need and desire for an armed bodyguard as perfectly normal? Don't you see that it's possible that there's something deeply wrong with a culture in which anyone wants an armed guard, elite or otherwise?

It is not normal; it is a response to reality. But, if you can guarantee that everyone will be disarmed, including cops and millitary, you might have a shot
But, with an administration that has repeatedly stated that it will not enforce borders and the amount of drugs, weapons and humans that are trafficked across it, there is a huge danger. All these things make a lot of money and want to protect it. They protect it with guns and that goes up and down the chain.
If guns are banned in the US and manufacture stops, that border will then become a larger highway to supply the criminal need.

That sounds dangerously close to the liberal racist "we should respect brown people's moral stance" argument for not interfering on female genital mutilation, honour killings &c.

On a similar note, I was in Lincoln Castle the other day looking at the Magna Carta. Fuck all security, just a bit of parchment under some glass. But hugely significant and awesomely old. Love this country despite the cunts.

he sounds sexier than usual
I'm in favour of gun control, but wonder how difficult it would be to enforce in some of the US states. Of course they can start by stop selling new high powered fire arms, but how much money do guns and ammo generate for the US economy and who decides if that is more important than the tragic killing sprees they have every year?

The problem is they've made their own bed now,
the gun lobby often come out with the old line "if guns were outlawed, only criminals would have guns." Sadly, there's a truth to it. Guns are so easily available on the black market that outlawing them would be something of an exercise in futility - most of the really problematic firearms are already illegal anyway, and they're not just going to disappear if the law-abiding folk give theirs up.

Is America really that much like the wild west?
with gun fights in every house that is burgled, standoffs in streets when someone tries to snatch a bag, etc?
I've seen maybe a handful of examples of armed citizens "defending themselves" against armed attackers.
And if the armed attackers are still risking it, surely the gun the "good guys" have, isn't a deterrent anyway?

But there are studies in which areas with higher gun ownership have less crime. Both Yale and Harvard (not exactly right wing) studies show this
A NY newspaper decided to "out" gun owners in its county, publishing names and addresses. It was a bad thing because many of those gun owners are police and penitentiary guards who have families. So, a blogger decided to "out" the journalists on that paper.
The paper's response? They were so afraid that they hired armed guards to protect them from potential crazies. They didn't worry about who would be harmed when someone else might die.
And at least in the wild west both parties were armed, not just the bad guys.

How much does a study like that really mean though?
people with criminal convictions aren't buying guns legally, are they still counted in the statistics? also, they might share communal guns so have less of them.

I saw a map that showed the opposite correlation once,
maybe I can find it again. But the correlation is quite difficult. The highest gun ownership tends to be in rural areas, which also corresponds to poverty, and high crime rates usually follow poverty.

Stalin came to power after the Revolution, comrade.
And as I read, set about to prevent any such revolution against himself. He did some really bad things and killed more than Hitler ever dreamed of.

it was only a few ruling communists who were the bad ones?

You would have to ask the far right
Stalin's move came long after the revolution. He disarmed because he did not like dissent.
And history shows the murders and purges that Stalin accomplished. He was glad to use the comrade term and call himself a Communist while never espousing any of the doctrine. He was a murderous dictator that subjugated a nation and killed any detractors. It's all out there for you to read.

Don't know about the camps in summer
but in Winter some of them are turned over to music promoters for gig weekends. We go to HardRockHell which used to be at Pontins - Prestatyn and is now at Haven (ex-Butlins) Hafan-y-Mor. Accommodation is basic, and we go for the music, but there seems to be a lot of play areas for the kids, climbing walls and the like.
