A cafe that uses food past its sell-by date
I've heard of this concept several times but this is the first time I've seen it in action - a brilliant way of feeding people in need, subsidised by people who can pay for it and saving perfectly good food from going to waste. There should be incentives to do this everywhere, such as free use of the many empty premises around.

Empty premisses are often empty whilst someone is trying to flog them
and it doesn't nessarily help to have it used by people with problems with their lives

Why would you suppose they have problems within their lives?
Because they're poor and a system that favours the wealthy has chosen to exclude them automatically makes them problematic?

Shouldn't be a problem...
as there is a clear distinction between 'sell by' and 'use by' dates - often only a day or so apart but not a problem if it's going to be eaten the next day.

It's very noble to devote your self to being a 'non-profit' organisation to devote yourself to feeding the poor or those willing to contribute to the cause, but you have to tide yourselves over, as well as make a small profit personally to give yourselves the means of carrying on, otherwise in the long-run you're fucked.
This is basically what Wetherspoons do with booze and they're minted - probably skimming a bit too much off the top. There needs to be a happy medium.

Food a day or so past its used by date will be fine
Cooked by an experienced chef and you've got yourself a bargain. They won't use meats etc. that could be contsminated. Also, think of the amount of posh restaurants you might go to that do this sort of thing anyway to help save coin. You don't know, do you?

I worked for a couple of months, years ago, in a professional kitchen. Not posh, but a good standard.
One of my jobs was peeling manky carrots, some totally blue-black with mould, down to the remaining crunchy orange bits. Minging.

Molly Crows, a film we made.....is now available to watch!
I made this!
Hi all! Some of you may have been following the progress of this film that myself and a few others have been making over the last couple of years. It has been a massive effort, cost very little to make as we're all skint but has won two awards at festivals and features a huge cast, including George Newton from such films as This Is England and Dead Man's Shoes. We had been looking at ways to get the film out to audiences and have decided to use Distrify - so the film is now available for streaming or download!
We hope that you do take the time to watch the film, to perhaps give feedback, but most of all enjoy watching our efforts. All money raised will be put towards our next project that is currently being written, so if nothing else, you'll be supporting future film making!
Thanks for listening...

As I pointed out in my comment on youtube from a few days ago... some of his voice commands have been edited in afterwards
"You can touch it if you want but you cannot get it" followed by an obvious cut is the easiest example to hear.
The others are very subtle but stick out like sore thumbs when you carry out spectral analysis on the audio. (Here's the above mentioned part viewed spectrally: i.imgur.com/jTKRBRo.jpg - note the striking vertical blue line... that's not a blue line per se, it's actually the lack of any frequencies, aka silence. You can also see on the left, the background noise is very consistent - but then inexplicably changes at 0:01:20)
The very first line he speaks, "Alright Jumpy, everybody's been asking..." was recorded at a different time to the sound immediately after that starts at 6.5 seconds and ends at 17 seconds - you can tell because there is a sudden jump in volume as well as different frequency levels, specifically more low frequency noise. i.imgur.com/lbmDkFp.jpg
At 55.5, just before he says "don't you look at it" there is a rapid cut. i.imgur.com/xK7xpNl.jpg
Between 1:06.50 and 1:09.34 there is a chunk of audio added which features the same "sweeping the yard" sound in the background that can be heard near the start. i.imgur.com/RuZFJiu.jpg
There may be more but it's late and I'm tired :)
