: GAY OR STRAIGHT PHOTO QUIZ
  Can you tell?

Last week we launched a Female or Shemale photo
challenge. It got millions of views in a couple
of days, crippled our server, and took down
another 50 sites on the same box.

  Woo.

It even reached U.S Radio, B3ta reader AMKaplan
got in touch to say, "It was on KZOK 102.5
Seattle. One of the guys on their morning show
had the other hosts and guests taking about
it on air. He told everyone to and call in
  while they were doing it."

It was time to take it down.

However, fools that we are, we're putting up
another quiz. If this one gets too popular then
we'll take it down as well, so get it whilst you
  can.

It's based on testing your Gaydar. Can you
tell straight men from gay men? Find out.

: PLAY KEBOARD SUMO
And cause chaos in your office.

Computer fighting games have got so boring,
twiddle the joystick, learn the combos, it's
  all same same same.

Help is at hand via b3ta bloke Mike Trinder
who has designed a game where you can
  physically fight.

"Playing Keyboard Sumo may look pretty easy",
Mike told us, "but it requires cunning and
dexterity. All that's required is to hold
down one key on the keyboard longer than
your opponent. Shove, push, pull and scratch
with abandon to get their finger off their
key. Just be nice to them afterwards, OK?"

Mike says he got the idea whilst in bed.
  "Monday Morning, 3am.", said Mike,"Woken
up instantly by idea banging around in
head. Attempt to go back to sleep, but
it won't leave me alone. I had to make this
so it would go away and let me sleep."

  Challenge a friend and fight.

: HOW TO SPEND YOUR MONEY THIS WEEK
Buy the coolest USB gadget ever made

Takahiko Suzuki, a jewellery designer from the
industrial city of Nagano, Japan, has designed
the PowerMate, an external volume control for
  computers.

"Touching the buttons on a computer does not
agree with me very well," Suzuki said.

The company has already shifted 10,000 of the
  little buggers.

We recently bought one, and it has boy appeal.
A friend said "What's the flashing blue thing?
  It's too cool."

They cost $45 and do international delivery.

: MP3 OF THE WEEK
Earl Zinger - Can't get you out of my bed.

Fantastic jazzy cover of the recent Kylie
Minogue hit. Made us laugh and it made us
  sing.

: THE RETURN OF JEFF MINTER
Play retro games on a PocketPC

Jeff Minter - creator of the classic computer
games Llamatron, Grid Runner & Tempest 2000 has
restarted his software company Llamasoft to
recreate new versions of his old games for the
  handheld Microsoft Windows machines.

With the collapse of his employer VM Labs with
it's DVD player and games machine Nuon - Minter
was recently been made redundant. "Getting
laid off from VM was upsetting, and since then
I have worked like a bastard and put my heart
  and soul into this."

His company plans to start selling his first
two titles, Hover Bovver and Deflex - an old
ZX81 game - from his website shortly.

: WHAT B3TA PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MAKING THIS WEEK
  Wap Elite and Orking Animals

Do you remeber Elite on the BBC micro in the
mid 80s? It was fantastic. And now? B3ta friends
Dan & Modesty B Catt have made a multiplayer
WAP version for mobile phones. BTW: We think
multiplayer mobile gaming is going to be big.
http://www.phink.net/elite/

Orking. What's that? Orking is act of taking
a photograph of an animal with it's nose too
close to the camera. B3ta boarder Monkeon has
been researching this odd trend, and has
  produced a touching tribute.

: B3TA INTERVIEWS
  The people who have refused.

We like interviewing people. It's fun and makes
us feel like proper journalists instead of
idiots messing about on the web.

Despite our successes with people like Tony Hart,
Dave Gorman & Osymyso - we've had a lot of
  refusals too.

Our latest was Dom Joly, his agent said "Having
spoken with Dom I'm afraid it is a no on this
occasion. Many apologies for the negative
  response."

Oh well, that means Dom Joly joins David Icke,
Matthew Smith, Pauline Quirk and Russell Grant
in our list of people who won't talk to us.

BTW: We are always open to suggestions for
interviews. Please send ideas, and if you can
get them, contact details to http://www.b3ta.com/mailus/
