HELLO TO OUR NEW READERS. You are probably
getting this newsletter as you saw the
Female or Shemale quiz we made and you
subscribed. Don't worry, it's free, comes
on a Friday, and is jam packed with stupid
stuff found and made by the B3ta community.
  We hope you like it.

-------------------------------------------------

: GET YOUR STUFF ON TELLY
You make video? Then we know where to send it.

We've been contacted by the production team
of HeadF**K, a TV show on the SciFi channel
dedicated to showing the weirdest footage
  they can find.

We checked out an episode last Thursday,
it's odd pop videos, weird shorts & previously
unseen film footage all packaged together to
make non-linear TV for people of a late night
  sensibility.

"We want the B3ta community", says the
shows producer Mr H.F, "to send us any
video stuff that they fancy making. We're
looking for stuff that's funny, surreal
or dangerous, and not like You've Been
  Framed."

So if you fancy being on the box, here
  is your chance.

More details on their site.

  B3TA PARTY! Remember it's the B3ta party
tonight. It's in Kentish Town, London. Come
and say hello. There are more details on the
  link.

: WHAT B3TA PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MAKING THIS WEEK
  Kestrels, Daleks & Polar Bears.

B3ta boarder Simon has created this charming
animation featuring a robot and a bird
called Kes. We almost shed a tear.
http://www.mediapill.com/features/fun_arena/sector...

Remember the Dalek Pop Idol animation? Well
the creator James has been producing more
  Dalek themed work.
http://www.rathergood.com/james/ageing/

B3ta chums, Design4Online have been working
hard. They've made this page which adds
the B3ta polar bear mascot to any page on
  the web.

NERD JOKE: "There are only 10 types of people in
the world - Those who understand binary, and
  those who don't."

: NEW SONG ABOUT THE INTERWEB
It's dead good. It made us smile.

  Thorpe writes -

"One of the things I love about the web are all
these homepages that people knock up with their
  free webspace from their ISPs.

"They may be mundane and pointless, but they're
  compelling nonetheless.

"I love the notion that they believe that anyone
would actually want to hear them saying 'hello'

"To be honest, I originally intended to take
the piss out them. But after listening to all
the wav files back-to-back, they began to take on
  a kind of naive charm.

BTW: Thorpe is DJing tonight at our party,
along with Elliot Reuben of DigitalHardcore,
DJ SpunkyBackpack, & DJ Stuart Style.

: SITES IN BRIEF
Stuff we like that wasn't made by our mates.

Forget the Segway. The coolest transport
device in the world is a bar stool with
  a big-fuck-off jet engine. Sadly you can't
buy it - but you can book it. Surely this
should be in a pop video?
http://www.turbinegroup.com/page2.html

And this is how B3ta boarder, Breel would
  like to see it used.

On Monday night on UK TV was a show called
"The Truth about Lesbians". One of the girls
featured looks a lot like this escort girl.
Is it her? Book her and find out - she charges
a very reasonable £250 per hour. BTW: our
mole at C4 said, "Hmm. I'd imagine that C4
said to the production company, 'Yikes. All
your lesbians are boilers, get us some pretty
ones. Leading to a lowly paid researcher typing
'uk lesbian' into google." (not work safe)

This visual maths puzzle utterly did our
heads in. Even when someone explained it
  to us.

This is the most utterly unpleasant collection
of naked web perverts we have ever seen and it
gives us nightmares. It is truly, truly
  horrific. (not work safe)

Toddler Attacked by Kitten - this mpeg video
made us laugh like a drain.

: MP3 OF THE WEEK

Each week, our friends at Boom Selection pick
  their favourite MP3.

  They write -

"Woo! Because of B3ta's mention of our
forthcoming 3 CD set we've been contacted by
a management company who are very interested
in helping us put it out. They manage Osymyso
  and Steinski too.

"This weeks MP3? One of the standout tracks
from The Streets (aka Mike Skinner) excellent
album, this is a very amusingly written Slim
Shady type alter ego track about the 'irony'
of our drug and alcohol laws. All this
delivered in Mike's drole Brummy accent."

-------------------------------------------------

: HOW TO SPEND YOUR MONEY
  Buy a rubber band gun

  Nik from PokeLondon writes -

"In order to ping elastic bands at my
workmates ears, I used to have to load
single rubber bands on my finger, risking a
  painful backfiring.

"That was until I found my semi automatic
  rubber band sharpshooter.

"Getting respect from fellow workers has
never been easier despite massive office
  productivity losses because of temporary
  blindness."

http://www.gadgets.co.uk/rbdouble.html

(BTW: Despite what the press say about the
dot com crash, we keep meeting small
web businesses that tell us "we're doing
very nicely - thank you." So if you've
bought something fun on the Internet,
  let us know at http://www.b3ta.com/mailus/)

: BEST OF B3TA
  Old but gold links.

If you are new to B3ta - then you might enjoy
some of the stuff we've made in the past. Here
  we go ...

DESTINY'S CHILD! They'll never be the same
  after hearing this misheard lyric.

BUNNIES! How steady is your hand? Trace the
  bunny and find out.

: B3TA IMAGE CHALLENGE
Results - Friend Challenge - When X Attack

Each week we run a competition to test your
creative skills. We set a challenge and you open
Photoshop and mess with our tiny minds.

Last week we asked you about your imaginary
friends, and quite frankly you scared us.

Joel from Rathergood.com is this weeks er..
celebrity judge, and he's picked the
three that made him laugh the most.
