: WEEBL NAME CHANGE SHOCKER!
He's not going to be called Weebl anymore!

As we informed you last week, the Weebl
animations are going on the telly.

  Jonti writes -

"Argh! We can't use the Weebl name! MTV
is worried that the copyright owners of the
  Weeble toys would sue.

"We're thinking about changing the series name
to 'He Who Cannot Be Mentioned and Bob.'

  "Anyway - I've made a new story. It's about
  jam. Oh, and pie."
http://www.weebls-stuff.com/pie/view.php

-------------------------------------------------

: STEPHEN HAWKING / DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION
Acclaimed physicist vs. popular arcade game.

  Katrina Silvermoon writes-

"Based on a stupid conversation with a couple of
friends, I've thrown together a flash animation
about Stephen Hawking playing Dance Dance
  Revolution."

It made us laugh - goes on a bit though.

: THE RATHERGOOD CORNER
  Blode 5 - Toad Turmoil

Joel Veitch runs a site called Rathergood.
He's our mate and we love his deranged work.

  Joel writes -

"I've made a new Blode cartoon. It's shorter
  than normal and features toads."

: WHAT B3TA PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MAKING THIS WEEK #1
Lumpy Animation, 24 Parody, Gay Computer Games

  >> Dinner time for Lumpy<<
Richard Tingley has made a charming animation
featuring his regular character Lumpy. This
week? Lumpy tries to eat dinner.
http://www.crapjuggler.co.uk/lumpy/dinner.html

  >> Random 24 plot generator <<
Chthonic is addicted to the TV show 24. He
writes, "Now that the show is nearly over
I've made this to create new plots to
  sate my need."
http://www.chthonic.f9.co.uk/24/24.html

  >> Gay computer game characters <<
Edge is a UK published computer games magazine.
In the latest issue B3ta is "website of the
month." However they appear to have reviewed
another site entirely. Something about "which
console is better?" We don't know much about
that stuff so we've made a list of gay computer
  game characters instead.

: HOW TO SPEND YOUR MONEY THIS WEEK
  Custom-Made Dolls

Jim makes little felt dolls. If you send him a
picture and $25 he'll make one for you. The
Freddy Krueger one is particularly fine. They
don't actually bear that much of a resemblance,
  but they are very cute.

-------------------------------------------------

: WHAT B3TA PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MAKING THIS WEEK #2
  Spam, Egg, Drink.

  >> Spam the Spammers <<
Ronald Scelson is reputed to be the world's
most prolific spammer. Tim Ireland has set up
a page to persuade you to give him a taste
  of his own medicine.
http://www.bloggerheads.com/can_weblogs/ronald_sce...

  >> Scary Egg Clock <<
Have you ever wanted to know exactly when
it's 3pm? Thanks to Mr Fancyteeth this egg
will let you know. He writes, "It's a gift to
be sent to those you love. Oh, you don't have
to wait till 3 - just click it a few times."
http://www.mantlepies.com/cuteegg2/

  >> Buy this man a drink <<
Did you catch the Save Karyn site? She was
asking for donations to pay off her $20,000
credit card bill. Amazingly she's already
got $4,000. B3ta reader Leigh Geary saw this
and wants in. His missus has spent all his
cash on clothes and he hasn't got any money
to buy beer. Go on. Have a heart.

: SITES IN BRIEF
Stuff we like that wasn't made by our mates.

  >> Naked women jumping up and down <<
What's not to like? They're naked! They jump!
And the music is great. Takes a bit of time
  to load though.
http://www.cloud10.org/jiggles/

   >> Dutch Dwarf Tossing Game <<
This is a new twist on darts - visually
inventive with great controls. Although it's
in Dutch you should be able to work it out.
http://www.lightsmith.nl/games/bouterdart/bouterda...

  >> This will do your eyes in! <<
This series of Terry Thomas photos is arranged
in such a way that an accidental optical
illusion occurs, making dots appear in front of
your eyes. Argh. My eyes. The dots.
http://www.mobilecube.co.uk/t_thomas.jpg

  >> Foreskin Restoration <<
NORM is a support group for circumcised men
who want their foreskins back. We've just read
Wayne's story. He tied heavy ball bearings to the
remains of his foreskin to lengthen it. Nutter.
http://www.norm.org/restorebb.html

  >> 20p + Glue + Webcam = Fun <<
Ever stuck 20p to the street and hung around to
watch people try to pick it up? That's the
attraction of the 'Tramp Cam' website.

: BOOTLEG MP3 OF THE WEEK
"Crowded House vs. Dr Dre & Snoop Dogg
Go Home Productions - The Weather Episode"

Each week we talk to the_dr at Boom Selection
about his current favourite bootleg track.

  the_dr writes -

"Sorry about the last few weeks - the CDs
we're selling are kicking off big time.

"The current golden boys of the bootleg world
have produced this tune which has got everybody
talking and is all over XFM Radio. One listener
stopped the DJ in the street and to ask whether
  this was an authorised remix.

"Yeah right, like Dre is down with the Crowded
  House massive!"

: B3TA IMAGE CHALLENGE
Results from "5th Emergency Service" Challenge

Each week we run a competition to test your
creative skills. We set a challenge and you
open Photoshop and spunk on our eyeballs.

Last week we wanted ideas for the 5th Emergency
  service.
http://b3ta.com/challenge/fifthemergencyservice/

We asked Weebl to judge the entries - here are
  his 3 faves.

  Weebl writes -

#1: "Friendly local owl man - I like the 'lovely
       owls' detail. (growler)
http://www.b3ta.com/board/2/5/6/6/7/8/

  #2 "Ribena Rescue (ShiftClick)

  #3: "Sofa Squad (hobnobgoblin)

  >> This Week's Challenge <<

This week, B3ta contributor Lucy Reese gave us
  the suggestion, "Holidays from Hell."

-------------------------------------------------

: WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
  Follow-ups on previous stories.

  * NICECUPOFTEAANDASITDOWN - Nicey has been
asked by The BBC to contribute his thoughts
on biscuits for a new TV show.

  * BUYMEAHOOKER.COM - We weren't sure if it was
genuine. Now it's forwarding to a porn site.
    So we guess it's not.

  * MENSTRUAL RUBBER CUP - a reader writes, "It
works! My wife uses one. Anything that
reduces the amount of toxic waste we put
into the environment has to be good."

  * LET'S FIST AGAIN - Deb got in touch from
Australia to say that singing our song got
her through a difficult labour. So B3ta says
well done to her and young Caillie Grace.
