Accidental animal cruelty
I once invented a brilliant game - I'd sit at the top of the stairs and throw cat biscuits to the bottom. My cat would eat them, then I'd shake the box, and he would run up the stairs for more biscuits. Then - of course - I'd throw a biscuit back down to the bottom. I kept this going for about half an hour, amused at my little game, and all was fine until the cat vomited. I felt absolutely dreadful.
Have you accidentally been cruel to an animal?
This question has been revived from way, way, way back on the b3ta messageboard when it was all fields round here.

It only looks like cruelty...
My girlfriend's Jack Russell
terrorist terrier loves nothing more than to play rough with me. As she has the traditional docked tail, her favorite game has now come to be known as Get-The-Nub. This generally consists of me grabbing hold of her nub and pulling her or lifting her back end up, often followed by grabbing her by the muzzle or the feet. She gets massively wound up and snarls and snaps her teeth at me, but keeps coming back for more. The best part is when she gets so freaked out that she then has to retreat and twist around to make sure that her nub is still there...
Before:

After:

I also often threaten to do things like pull off her nub and stab her with it... but that's another story.
