This is a question Happy 10th Birthday B3ta

Ten years ago today we launched B3ta (well the version of it you'd recognise). Happy birthday B3ta! As a special one off please add your memories of B3ta here. E.g. How you found the site, or an early thing you saw on the site, maybe the people you've met or how the community is/was part of your life.

Been here 6 years in January
I found B3ta because someone sent me the newsletter with the link to badgerbadgerbadger in it. Before that I used to read Popbitch but it got shit and I needed something to fill the void. B3ta was it. I read the newsletter and that was it. I didn't even lurk. Then I started reading the site and then posted a shitload of Top Tips in a row late one night which for some reason, PostBear took umbrage to.
Then I started on OfTopic, but it got boring, so moved onto QOTW. Occasionally if I get a good idea, I'll post on /board but I'm no expert in Photoshop (I have had 3 FPs though). But QOTW is the best by far.

Favourite memory? In one newsletter, there was a link to an audio file of 'cuntflaps' in Morse Code, so I downloaded it and made it my SMS tone on my phone. A few days later, I'm walking around Asda and Mrs SLVA sends me a text. My phone beeped out the expletive and from the next aisle, someone said "Aha, I can hear a B3tan". That made my day.

<boast>And I maintain that I am the only B3tan who has won their own QOTW suggestion.*</boast>

postbear takes umbrage to a lot of things
Don't tell him, but he's a very nice chap really. Type grumpy old man with a heart of, well, he would take umbrage if I said gold here.
