WellWhy do the crew need the engine running when on standby? Sounds like it has the makings of a reasonable complaint to me

Well:If it's cold weather, running the heater is reasonable.
Plus, you should keep the battery topped up: Equipment like the Mobile Data Terminal and Two-Way Radio all drain power. Don't assume that 'Ambulance Service owned' means properly serviced and specced vehicles.
