Disclosure
Apparently, the various government of the world are leading up to a full disclosure that we have, actually, been visited by aliens.

For years NASA's personnel were instructed to deflect or repudiate any questions concerning UFO's or aliens put to them by the media or private citizens but then in 2004 or 2005 this restriction was lifted and since then a dozen or more astronauts have gone on record stating their missions were monitored by unknown space vessels* and that there has been contact between the US government and alien civilisations. Some people claim that the government has judged that the climate is right to come clean and that the output of sci-fi from Hollywood, comics and other print media have accustomed us to the notion of alien beings and it won't cause a panic like the War of the Worlds broadcast (they haven't been paying attention to the kind of sci-fi that Hollywood has been feeding us, obviously).

Anyway, according to "disclosure" afficionados you can expect to see it on the 10 o'clock news sometime in the next year or two.

*There are on Youtube audio recordings purportedly of astronauts going about their tasks saying "they appear to be watching" and being instructed to go about their tasks as if everything was normal. Probably fakes but who knows?

I heard that there are trigger words that start a 'phone call automatically being recorded by The Authorities.
As a result, every time my father and I speak on the 'phone, we initially discuss the glee we will enjoy at the collapse of the West's Empire.

I cannot imagine any astronauts or people at NASA have ever had a similar idea regarding winding up conspiracy theorists, and have only ever played everything with a perfectly straight bat.

There is that
I'm sure plenty of pranks took place on the moon. It wouldn't surprise me to know there's a 25' cock scratched into the lunar dust just in case any aliens fly-by. *

But the weirdest thing I've read about the US Apollo program concerns the moonshot where one of the astronauts asked Houston where the third stage was in relation to them? Given that it was less than 20 miles away and was clearly visible to them at the time, this was a question that puzzled Houston who nevertheless informed them where it was. But he asked the question, he says, because he was looking at something closer than that but couldn't say because everyone was listening.

*This so need photoshopping but I'm shit, if anyone would care to have a go....?

Yes - they're famous for never having asked a stupid question ever, as well.

googled this
and there's some fun youtube videos with Buzz talking about it:

My theory? Well I guess they saw something but it's a big leap to get to aliens. More likely would be some discarded junk from another space mission.

*more googles* Ooh, this Russian unmanned probe was attempting to get to the moon around the same time - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luna_15 - a bit of that?

Yes, that's the one
My memory is a bit hazy but that's essentially the scenario that I was talking about.

It could well have been part of the Luna 15 shot as that left three days earlier but you would have thought they would have known about that and that, in hindsight, that's what it would have been identified as a piece of if such were the case.

But clicking around those videos, as I say, there's a bunch of astronauts who are giving testimony these days and it's harder to dismiss these guys as cranks, given they're all experienced pilots and such.

I'm pretty sure
People would panic like fuck.

I do find all of this sort of stuff very interesting though. Apparently the codeword astronauts used when they spotted a UFO was they'd spotted a 'Santa Claus', and this can frequently be heard on recordings available to the public.

The trouble is
now there's Christian conspiracy theorists saying that UFO's and aliens are just manifestations of the endtimes of Satan and these are all demonic.

So if we have been visited and they went public now they'd run the risk of some Westboro Baptist nutjob taking potshots at any alien vessels that appeared with his AK-47.

You're a paid shill
for the 10 o'clock news

Yay, I've been accused of being a shill!
I'm a proper conspiracy theorist now!
