This is a question The last thing that made me cry

I wept for my cat last week despite trying to be all hard and manly. What's made you cry recently?

"The game of life is hard to play...
... I'm gonna lose it anyway"

11.37am, January 12th 2002. Not the last time, but the first of many since then.

My brother died. He was only a kid. No amount of preperation can prepare you for that moment when your world is ripped out from under your feet. Everything since then has stemmed from this.

I failed my degree, I tried to kill myself, and more than anything I've lost the family I once had. Nothing has been the same since that day. Nothing. I barely speak to my parents or any of my family. I see them once, maybe twice a year.

Someone told me things like this brought people together. Life's just not like that.

Edit: Thank you Oucheh ^. Just realised how morbid this whole thing is getting. I prefer questions about kittens. And badgers.

the last stupid thing
that made me cry was being on a downer after a spot of drug use. i felt lonely, so cried.

the more serious thing that made me cry was when i was with my gran in hospital, she was terminal with cancer. i just felt so helpless and useless as a human not being able to do anything.
good thing came from it tho, studying towards getting onto a medicine course atm as its what i promised her i'd do.

also just read MrC's post below and welled up a bit, i miss my dog :/

Crying
A couple of months ago, on my own one night, no apparent reason, just burst into tears. Lots of pressure at work I guess and no-one giving a flying f**k about all the work you put in.

a couple of months back
i had to go to hospital because i was severely anaemic - i only had a level of 3.5 haemoglobin, the normal is 12 plus i'm only 16 so its rarer to be that ill at my age. i had a blood transfusion over night and told my mum to go home and sleep. i cried all night because i was scared i would die before she came back.

not right
on 23 March my friends 25 day old baby died. As she was walking thro the hospital doors he suddenley stopped crying and turned blue - they could not get his heart to start back up -they still have no cause - even after the autoposy.
But what really hit me is at the funeral and staring at the tiny casket - the smallest you could purchase. It will haunt me forever.

A couple of things made me cry a little on friday
I was at my parents house cause it was my sisters birthday and spent most of the day with her. Anyways I was having a look through my old baby photo album (my sister made me find hers) and I found lots of my late grandfather who died about 8 years ago. I started thinking hed never see his great grandkids if I had any and I started missing him. I never really cried much when he died, I had to be strong for my mum but i had a bit of a cry that day.

Maybe it was because of this that when I was watching vh1 and Freddie Mercurry came on I missed him too and shed a tear. Whoa I was down in the dumps that day!

Chrissy
About 5 years ago our dog Chrissy developed cancer. It started with a small lump on her ear which grew and grew until finally she had to have a chunk of her ear removed.

She was okay for a while but then we found another lump on her side. Again the vet had to operate to take it away, but we were told the prognosis was not good.

Sure enough the lump came back and kept growing. The vet said there was nothing he could do and that we just try to keep her comfortable until she succumbed. I don't think a dog has ever been more loved than she was in those last few weeks.

She had a habit of jumping onto my bed every morning and lying against my legs. One morning, though, she couldn't quite make the jump onto my bed, although she really wanted to. We examined her lump and found it had grown to the size of a small orange. She was in so much pain. We gave her some painkillers and she did perk up a bit but we knew the time had arrived. We called the vet and he said he would come round.

All of us took the day off work and my mother and I took her on her last walk, although she couldn't walk very far.

When the vet arrived he told us that if we didn't have her put down she would only last a few more weeks, or maybe days, and would be in incredible pain. So we decided to do it.

He agreed to put her down at home, so all of us were there with her. I was stoking her head as he administered the injection and I was still stroking her head when she slipped away, calm and feeling like the most loved dog in the world. She was 3 years old.

We all wept for the rest of the day. I don't think I've ever cried so much. She was the nicest, gentlest dog you could ever meet and we all still miss her terribly.

The last time I cried? Now. Typing this.

I well up..........
At emotional bits in films. When Mufasa dies in the Lion King, when Adrian wakes from her coma in Rocky 2 (mind you, for some reason Rocky's almost untelligible speech at the end is also one).

bizarrely...
I can't remember the last time. No, seriously. I can't.
Possibly an evening a couple of years ago, the second anniversary of going out with a girl I loved, when I realised that she was slipping away from me and I couldn't do anything about it...

I was welling up a couple of months ago though - I was on top of a hill on Dartmoor waiting for sunset, when a mist came down and I thought about going back down and home. About ten minutes before sunset o'clock, the mist dropped into the valleys around the hill and I was on an island surrounded by white fluff - like standing on a cloud.
I took about 50 photos, it was beautiful.
When I got home, for some reason, I accidentally deleted them from the memory card before I'd copied them to the hard drive :((

Today I've just lost it . . .
Right . . . today I found out a gentleman I admired seems to be already attached. So what you may say? Well, two weeks ago he wasn't, and on a Sunday night where I've had little sleep (some f#cking emergency dept is making my pager dizzy with calls), I've just found out I have another case to do at 9:00 pm (I started operating at 9:00 am), I have a journal club presentation tomorrow (need to read up a bit), and somewhere in there, I'm supposed to be studying for an exam in biomechanics. Being a girl surgeon sucks.
Oh - and to rub salt into the wound - I work with this guy everyday - he's an anaesthetist.

Bah . . . I hate my life.
