Another farming story
Back when I was 13 or so, I was into shooting, ranging all over the family farm with my trusty air-rifle, wiping out all manner of fluffy and fur-bearing lifeforms.

One afternoon I had staked out my favourite haunt, a clump of bushes near to the local Rookery (where crows roost). I had just sat down and taken out my box of pellets when the BIGGEST crow I'd ever seen landed not 3 yards from me.
Now this was too good a chance to miss; so, as quietly as I could, I took out a pellet and cocked my air-rifle.

Now my rifle tended to make a very loud *snap* when you closed it, and this would surely scare off my feathery target, so I ingeniously put my hand over the breech to muffle the noise and snapped the rifle closed.

The thing is, the breech gathered up a load of the skin of my palm and, as I closed the gun, snipped a 2-pence-piece sized chunk of skin out of my palm.

The crow was scared off by my horrified screams as I ripped my hand free, severing the last few threads of flesh holding the lump of skin in the gun to my hand.
Blood went everywhere, and when I opened the gun out fell the chunk of my palm like a shiny red coin.

Still got the scar...

Cor, you know when someone tells you something horrible and your bumhole puckers up? I just got that.

Guy at school had his thumb in the breach and accidently pulled the trigger - barrel shot up and he lost his thumb. LOL
