This is a question Pointless Experiments

Pavlov's Frog writes: I once spent 20 minutes with my eyes closed to see what it was like being blind. I smashed my knee on the kitchen cupboard, and decided I'd be better off deaf as you can still watch television.

I wanted to know
if cats would drink grapefruit juice (straight from the fruit, not from a carton).

The cat sniffed at the saucer of juice, stuck her tongue in, and promptly fell of the table in shock.

I think that's a resounding NO.

Cats cannot taste sweet things
so to her it would have tasted just sour and acidic.

Grapefruit
tastes sour and acidic to me too.

And I'm human.

Near as.

Stupid kitty
I'd have thought that the odour alone would be enough to prevent it from having a lick.
That's what the missus said last night anyway.

Grapefruit
tastes sour and acidic to me too. Urgh.

I can confirm
that vodka has a similar effect, with the slight difference that, instead of falling, the cat leaps backwards, bashes its arse on the TV, then sits on the carpet looking bewildered.

Then it comes back for more.
