Knebworth 1985
My first festival at a young tender age, couldnt wait to see Deep Purple (headlining) scorpions, UFO, blackfoot, mountain etc.
It pissed down for most of the day, mud up to my arsehole (and i'd put my best rock gear on) but was stunned by how fuckin ace all the bands were especially Scorpions and Purple, fuck me what a gig.

My hair at the time was down to my arse and I'd not long had it permed (a la Joey Tempest from Europe) so was very proud i looked so good, until the moment a full 2 litre bottle of piss came flying through the air to land directly on my head.
Cunts.

Mind, the guys next to me felt sorry for me, handed me their brew of JD and coke in a massive jug, and passed me a spliff rolled in some american bill a $20 i think, so got happily merry, made some friends and had a fucking ace time.

Yeah!
Knebworth that year was fucking brilliant, not least because when Meat Loaf came on stage a 2 litre bottle of piss knocked him right on his arse. I seem to recall he had his leg in plaster making him an excellent target due to his limited mobility.

It seemed like everyone was completely off their tits, rolling about in the mud. UFO, Scorpions, Mountain and Purple were all excellent, the lasers and fireworks were fantastic, and then some poor sod gave me and my mate a lift all the way home, caked in mud, because we missed our coach. What a hero!

Ha fuck yes
He had a full cast from ankle to hip, and i remember him going over, ha ha ha. I remember Tommy Vance telling us not to swear cos we were live on radio and we just kept shouting "FUCK YOU". Happy days.

I loved mountain especially Nantucket Sleigh Ride and the singer kicked over the drums LOL!!11!

As for the guy who gave you a lift home, fair play to him, it was a great atmosphere that year. Scorpions blew me away and I'm so glad to have seen the original Purple lineup, fuck me Ian paice was solid as fuck :)
