This is a question First World Problems

Onemunki says: We live in a world of genuine tragedy, starvation and terror. So, after hearing stories of cruise line passengers complaining at the air conditioning breaking down, what stories of sheer single-minded self-pity get your goat?

Christians
Whining that they are discriminated against, poor dears, when society taps them gently on the shoulder and points out that homophobia is going the same way as slavery, witch burning, torture, racism and all the other unpleasant things christians swore blind were God's Unalterable Will For His People until deciding that maybe they weren't after all.

Yeah - to be fair, though, Christians don't really pose much of a threat in Britiain today, either.

The buggers don't give up, though.
Look at all those dubious court cases from insulted Christians demanding the right to wear I-only-do-blowjobs rings at school, or the right to wear a cross on a chain rather than as a brooch while working, or to stop gay couples from staying at a guesthouse. They realise that they are losing power and influence but don;t have the decency to go quietly.

What group of people has ever gone quietly
when their influence was waning?

By "[it's] going the same way as slavery, witch burning, torture, racism" etc.
do you mean it'll become acceptable and commonplace when the economy finally gives up the ghost, along with cannibalism, mass book burnings and families with 20 kids per generation?
(, Thu 1 Mar 2012, 19:47, closed)
No
No, I don't mean that.
