This is a question Pathological Liars

Friz writes, "I recently busted my mate who claimed to have 'supported the Kaiser Chiefs in 2001' by gently mentioning that they weren't even called that back then."

Some people seem to lead complete fantasy lives with lies stacked on lies stacked on more lies. Tell us about the ones you've met.

BTW, if any of you want to admit to making up all your QOTW stories, now would be a good time to do it.

This is a QotW answer A friend in school claimed to be 'best mates' with American comedian Robin Williams
We'll call him Gaz.
Gaz'd regale us all with tales of how he used to visit Robin durring the summer holidays, stay at his mansion in Hollywood and so on.
None of us believed him, and one day we asked for proof; A photo, a letter, anything.
Our lying friend ummed and ahhed for a few days, trying to fob us off with such responses as "Robin doesn't want me to, it's meant to be a secret" and "I've lost em all".

In the end he brought in a photo; quite obviously a mugshot style giveaway photo such as you'd recieve for being in the "Robin Williams fanclub".
Much mockery ensued.

Said friend also used to claim his Dad (who was absent from the household and had always been) died in World War II.
Despite the fact Gaz was born in 1981...

Not sure this counts as lying though, as Gaz's mum was the one who fed him the story to avoid the fact Daddy Gaz skipped off with a much younger bit of skirt when Gaz Jr was still in the womb.

Although, Gaz did used to embellish the story of his missing Dad, adding such nonsense as "He died blowing up a Nazi fortress" and "He was a war hero and got a posthumous knighthood".

Length, etc.
