This is a question Losing it

Bluehamster tells us: "This morning I found myself filling my mug not a teabag, but with Shreddies." Tell us of the times when you've convinced yourself that you're losing your marbles.

I hate winter mornings...
In my last job I had an 8am start and a 45 minute commute - so was well accustomed to getting up before dawn in the winter.

One night I had a few drinks (well I was working in the brewing industry) but nothing catastrophic - perhaps 4 pints, then in bed by 11:30. My bladder woke me up before my alarm clock and I trudged downstairs, had a shower and some brekkie, then got dressed and trudged out feeling far rougher than I thought was really justified or fair. At the bus stop I checked my watch to see how long I would have to wait and found that it was in fact 12:45am - I had slept for less than hour then got up to go to work in the middle of the fucking night.

Of *course* I was late in the following morning after sleeping in.

I regularly did the same d*** thing.
Usually napping after a shower, getting up with a jolt, peering at the clock*, 630! I bolt out of bed with an adrenaline rush, and start to get ready for work, only to realise, it's 630p, not a.

Once I got as far as heading to the carpark and having my brain lockup, why is the sun rising... in... the... west--?

*yes, it has a little am/pm indicator, but I always get it mixed up. Either that or it's set wrong. Now I use my cellphone, which is much easier to read and throw across the room.

Time to experience the master system that is 24h time!

You would have seen 1830 and gone right back to sleep.

Something similar
Many years ago I lived in Sweden. To set the scene it's summer and only gets dark for about 1 hour.

One night after one too many beers with friends I arrive home worse for wear and crash out.

I wake up feeling well rested, it's bright sunshine, I must be late for work. I get up, shower, have some toast and go to leave for work. The last thing I always did before I left the flat was put my watch on. I put it on, left the flat and looked at my watch to work out when the next bus was due. And realise it was in an hour and forty minutes. It was 3.20am!
