This is a question How nerdy are you?

This week Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, died. A whole generation of pasty dice-obsessed nerds owes him big time. Me included.

So, in his honour, how nerdy were you? Are you still sunlight-averse? What are the sad little things you do that nobody else understands?

As an example, a B3ta regular who shall remain nameless told us, "I spent an entire school summer holiday getting my BBC Model B computer to produce filthy stories from an extensive database of names, nouns, adjectives, stock phrases and deviant sexual practices. It revolutionised the porn magazine dirty letter writing industry for ever.

Revel in your own nerdiness.

This is a question reply Avrogadro's number
6x1023 it's the number of atoms, molecules, etc. in a gram mole of any chemical substance

is a Big Number it's very hard to get your head around a number that large

6x1023 coke cans would cover earth about 4 million times at depth of 280 miles

I love that

This is a question reply I like how
you can multiply Avogadro's number by the square of the Bohr magneton and then divide by the Boltzmann constant to give a value as close as damn it to 1/8th.
Makes my life easier, anyway.

This is a question reply It may be a big number
But how big is it compared to Wales? That's the only comparison that matters.

This is a question reply KISS.ME.WHERE.I.POO
Taking into effect the weather, possibility of sporting success for national teams divide by smoking ban and interest rates

about 3 days

This is a question reply It wouldn't be quite 280 miles above the current surface
because the earth's surface would have sunk a bit because of all of the bits of earth's crust you'd need to mine to get enough aluminium to manufacture the coke cans.

Maybe.

Also, colonelboris,

e = -1

Nothing to do with Avogadro, but rather a fun equation, I think.
