I have difficulty judging the severity of american insultsI jokingly called someone a douchebag in a meeting the other day (he was in the room at the time) and the atmosphere became quite tense for a few minutes. I don't know how insulting it is but I just like the using the word.

If you live and work in the UKand you called someone in a meeting a douchebag it's just possible the tense atmosphere was due to everyone in the room suddenly realising you were a tool?
