Film recommendation!
I watched JCVD last night, and I have to say, my respect for Van Damme just rose about fifty points. The Muscles From Brussels is actually pretty funny, and a good actor.

My favorite moment: when he demonstrates a roundhouse kick to knock a cigarette out of a guy's mouth, and then sits back and watches another guy try to duplicate it while wearing a "what kind of ass clowns are these twits" expression as the guy gets a full kick to the jaw.

I do have to wonder, though: how close to real life was the story? Did he really go through a child custody case?

Yep, it's a surprisingly good film
My favourite moment was perhaps the phonecall to the police where he makes the demands more extreme because a reasonable demand from JCVD wouldn't make sense (genius) and then tries to arrange for his legal fees to get paid (worth a punt in that situation).

I vaguely get the impression that there was some child custody case. IMDB's trivia says he actually has a son but they changed it to a daughter in the film "for legal reasons".
