This is a QotW answer I needed to get out of the office for a break,
so headed over to Starbucks for a coffee and banana.
When I came out, there was an old, crippled homeless man sitting at the lights with a sign. So I went back in to Starbucks, got a juice, a sandwich and a donut and gave them to him at the traffic lights when I pulled up.
He had tears in his eyes as he thanked me. And I saw the 3 cars directly behind me give him a soda, a pack of cigarettes and one lady gave him a bag of groceries.

Restored my faith in people, that did.

Although, I do wonder if the people behind only did it just because you did. Doesn't change your great dead for the day though!

This is a QotW comment Hair pot,
yes, I think they did - probably out of guilt. There's so many times you pass those people at the lights, but at the end of the day they may be homeless but they're still human.

Who would sidle up to people and go

"Got £150,000 for a new Ferrari please mate?"
Always got a quid out of me.

I am also entirely incaplae of drinking more than half of a takeaway cup of tea, slurp some of it then the rest usually gets passed to the nearest begger along with a rollup.

We had a pic-a-nic at the Cambridge Shakespeare fest in one of the Universities a couple of years ago (im not posh, its a lovely summer night out, couple of beers, bit of Kultcher and catching up with friends) and bought waaay to much stuff. These three beggars we met on the way to the pub afterwards were more than a little surprised to end up with two dozen sausage rolls, scotch eggs, crusty bread and a bunch of grapes, plus a couple of bottles of Stella to wash it all down with!
