This is a QotW answer Which soup is best?
Any recipes more than welcome.

Personally, leek and potato tickles my testes.

This is a QotW comment Lentil and and leek is also good.
:) EDIT: it's my mum's recipe though and she keeps it locked in her head. I have no idea how to make it. :(

This is a QotW comment ..
Either Broccoli and Stilton, or a good strong Tomato and Basil soup.

Then again, Hot and Sour can be either sexual, or disappointing!

Plus it means you get to have roast duck the day before, so you've got a carcass.

This is a QotW comment Never gotten away with blue cheese,
although I once experienced a steak and stilton cornish pasty in a delightful pub in Covent Garden, but the stilton was not particularly prominent.

This is a QotW comment Is there a bad soup?
My favourite though is between Lentil (with wee bits of Ham, just like mumma used to make), or something a bit more exotic like Spicy Chicken, or Crab and Sweetcorn....

This is a QotW comment French onion soup is great
A good variation is garlic soup - swap the quantities of garlic and onions.

Warning: this is for the brave/garlic lovers only, your breath will cut through reinforced concrete for about six months afterwards.

This is a QotW comment You all seem to be incorrect
as everybody knows that the only soup in the whole world is Heinz Tomato soup, which you can drop some squeezed up bread balls into, and eat and spill on your white shirt and go 'Aww, mum!'

This is a QotW comment Proper French Onion Soup is fucking nom
and incredibly easy. Google Delia's recipe - personally I leave out the alcohol she puts in.

Scene of at least two b3ta bashes in the last year.

Anyway, soup - my missus does a pretty good roasted vegetable soup.

This is a QotW comment roast butternut squash soup is win
Cut the squash in half lengthways.

Brush with olive oil

Bake at 180degrees c for about 40-45 mins.

Scoop out the insides (obviously get rid of the seeds)

Put in saucepan with about 300ml of stock (can be whatever stock you like).

Add a teaspoon of ground ginger and seasoning.

Whizz with a blendery thing.

Heat through.

Crumble some parmesan on top.

Nom.

This is a QotW comment Davros
Yeah that was it! Went on a few trips to the big smoke when i was at college and it came highly recommended. Nice little balcony to watch the street performers with a pint of wheat beer and a pasty.

Unfortunately I'm all the way up in sunny Boro, have to make do with a warm can of carling and a steak bake from greggs.

This is a QotW comment Black Bean Soup...
...makes me pre-cum!

Ingredients

2 Pounds Black Beans - washed
1 Gallon Water
1 1/2 Tablespoons Cumin Powder
2 Teaspoons Oregano
2 Teaspoons Ground Black Pepper
2 Teaspoons Thyme2 Cups Yellow Onions - diced
2 Cups Celery - diced
2 Cups Carrots - diced
2 Tablespoons Garlic Cloves - minced
1/4 Cup Olive Oil
1/3 Cup Dry Sherry
Salt - to taste
Cheddar Cheese - grated
Sour Cream

Place beans in a pot with 1 gallon cold water. Add cumin, oregano, black pepper and thyme. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a very gentle simmer for 1 hour,
While beans are cooking, sauté onions, celery, carrots and garlic in olive oil until they are tender.

Add sautéed vegetables, sherry and salt to beans after beans have simmered for 1 hour.

Continue simmering for another hour, for a total cooking time of 2 hours. Stir gently to keep beans on bottom from sticking or burning.

Yummy.

PS NON Veggies - add chorizo at the sautee stage
