This is a question Political Correctness Gone Mad

Freddy Woo writes: "I once worked on an animation to help highlight the issues homeless people face in winter. The client was happy with the work, then a note came back that the ethnic mix of the characters were wrong. These were cartoon characters. They weren't meant to be ethnically anything, but we were forced to make one of them brown, at the cost of about 10k to the charity. This is how your donations are spent. Wisely as you can see."

How has PC affected you? (Please add your own tales - not five-year-old news stories cut-and-pasted from other websites)

This is a question reply The MoD and it's PC shenanigans
I used to work for the MoD (can't say as what, National Security and all that). Now the MoD are notorious for their PC-gone-maddery, but when I applied for a slightly better job than the one I had, I experienced it first hand.

I was told, despite being one of 3 aplicants and pretty damn qualified to do said job, that I hadn't made the cut. In fact no one had. Aparently because all the aplicants were white, straight and British, the department couldn't hire us as they needed to meet 'quotas'.
Departments in the MoD are now required to have a certain percentage of ethnic, gay/les and minority members, even if they're not entirely suited to the job!

Madness.

This is a question reply That's why this country is in a mess
It's this way through the whole civil service.

It's all very well to say "don't discriminate against [insert minority here]", but when people are selected who are not the best ones for the job - then naturally the job does not get done as well as it should.

I work in the civil service - and I'm surrounded by people who should not be here.
