This is a question I Quit!

Scaryduck writes, "I celebrated my last day on my paper round by giving everybody next door's paper, and the house at the end 16 copies of the Maidenhead Advertiser. And I kept the delivery bag. That certainly showed 'em."

What have you flounced out of? Did it have the impact you intended? What made you quit in the first place?

I once had to deal with a drunken boss on a film shoot....
...who, after two weeks of being arsed around by her and dealing with all production issues myself, decided to fire me on the last day.

Unfortunately, she'd recently added insult to considerable social injury by hiring THE most unpleasant assistant director a couple of days before to complete the shoot. All the crew hated her, make up and wardrobe ended up in tears, actors rebelled frequently - all after just two days of her. I had been dealing with all the emotional mess it caused amongst everyone, trying desperately to hold everything together, so being told I 'didn't need to be there' on the last day itself (not an advance call or anything) did quite piss me off.

And so it happened that walking out of the building first thing that morning I bumped into camera, sound and lights arriving. When the boys saw me they asked why I wasn't up there, and I told them I'd been fired.

And thus the entire technical crew ushered me into a cafe, bought me a hot chocolate, and refused to go upstairs and commence the shoot until I'd drunk it as slowly as possible.

They were two hours late, blamed "traffic" (said in inverted commas, too) and at the end of the day told the producer and AD to go fuck themselves.

I was so proud.
