This is a question "Well, that escalated quickly"

Xavier the Happy Bear says: Tales of when it all kicked off. A combination of Xmas, old family woes and a metric fuckton of alcohol lit the fuse for my family recently. What caused shit to 'go down' for you and what was the damage?

The lifts in the Natwest tower were pretty fast.
They use to escalate pretty quickly.

When I was working as a despatch rider we used to like a job to the Nat West Tower. If you timed it right going down, you could jump in the air and sort of float back to the floor. Sort of.

One of the guys I worked with did it three times on the way down, and then puked in front of the other horrified occupants of the lift.

I can see it would be a problem.
But wouldn't Lloyd's building be worse?

Or maybe that would be better if you're claustrophobic.

Did you see they've put a 40mph limit and cameras on the Westway? in 1992 We used to get over a ton on there. Spoilsports.

never got lloyds jobs.
my controller hated me. south of the river at 5.30 on a Friday? no, you cunt, i live in Essex. i did a year in 1994/5 - fun times. did you ever see the guy with the 'baby in topbox' sticker? this was in the days where despatchers used to carry a baseball bat velcroed to the frame to 'remonstrate' with arsehole drivers. ah, happy days...

Don't remember seeing him, but I was before that.
I did 4 years in the late 80s/early 90s.

Fun times, but dead end as a dodo. The internet seems to have killed it now, I still ride a bike in London, but hardly see any despatch riders.

It was a pun on "scared of lifts" implying that you were homosexual for comedy effect.
Clearly my attempts fell flat, much like the shoes I'd implied you were wearing.

I used to work on the 38th floor of the RBS Tower in Hong Kong.
Took some getting used to. Fucking fire drill one day - had to go down 38 flights of stairs.

With high speed lifts
this only works if you jump exactly at the point the car begins to move. After that you will be traveling down at the same rate as the car. I suppose if you did it after each stop you could do it three times. It's not that nauseating though, I can only assume the pukee in question was hungover or had a weak stomach.
