This is a question Unemployed

I was Mordred writes, "I've been out of work for a while now... however, every cloud must have a silver lining. Tell us your stories of the upside to unemployment."

You can tell us about the unexpected downsides too if you want.

When I was a child, I wanted to starve as a tortured artist in a garret. When I was a man, I put away childish things. Then fate cumshot me with a big fat load of FAIL
Got the can on Monday. Going to try my hand at being a writer. There's fewer things more depressing, though, than the cheerful tone of the Writers and Artists Yearbook.

Hi there
First, sorry to hear that you've been canned. Not good. But it's not failure - so don't look on it that way. It's happening to loads of us - don't take it personally.

However, having been lucky enough to read something you sent me before Christmas - as you know, I think you do have the talent to write something that others will read.

So good luck in your mission and I'm always happy to read anything you might want to throw my way - my e-mail address hasn't changed.

All the best

I often find your posts very interesting and literary.

Go for it.

It's not great, particularly,
but you might want to try setting up on a freelancing site. You can earn a fair bit of money and at the same time legitimately call yourself a writer, which is a big boost to the ol' self-esteem.

Good luck to you, either way.
