Where do you get your music from?
I tend to use itunes but it's a little pricey.
I tried emusic but found their selection lacking.
DRM-free would be a bonus but I'm not all that fussed.
I can't be doing with actual CDs - download only please.

i'm thinking of digging out my old walkman
1) because they look cool and
2) because they make much chunkier noises when you change album
the downside is that everything is about a million times heavier, but i can deal with that

You could always rip out the insides,
and put in a small hard drive, then modify the wiring so that the buttons worked to skip tracks and so on. If you have one with radio, the tuning dial could work like a navigation wheel. You could fit a small screen in window that lets you see which tape is inside.
In fact, somebody must have done this already.
(
MooCow_Byter, Wed 17 Jan 2007, 19:18,

I had a walkman
Then I got an mp3 player because it was too heavy and complained when I tried to walk with it.
The entertaining thing was though, when the batteries were new everything was extra fast and then when they were running out it all went extra slow.

I get my music
direct from
Pharrell Williams. What he does, right, is comes round my house with his Homies, and "Bigs it up" right there
in my living room. What I then do, is get a little metal tap, like the kind you'd attach to a tree to drain sap, and affix the tap
to the side of Pharrell. The liquid that he produces while Bigging it up can then be processed into a suitable musical format.
Depending on the speed at which he Bigs it up, Pharrell can produce any musical genre, ranging from Drum n Bass, through Country to Ska and Goth Rock Metal

slash kitchenette

eBay.
Almost always. The only real exception is when I buy music directly from a band at a gig, and even then I only do so if they're a small band whose music isn't widely available, or if it's some kind of tour-only merch.
EDIT: I sometimes download (Soulseek or Bittorrent), but only to see if I like the music. If I do, I generally buy the CD eventually.
