I'll be getting a passport, this year, and holidaying abroad for the first time in forever.
Where should I go? You can't say "away".

I stopped off in Morecambe once
There was a boot sale going on in a grubby car park - one stall sold nothing but old NHS crutches. Nice one, 'the north'

Doesn't really answer your question though.

San Sebastian is amazing - lovely old town, some of the best food in the world and a great beach. And not overrun with Brits.

Has it got anything to offer a trio of under 12s who like nothing more than losing their pocket money to the 2p push machines?

A nice beach
No tawdry British seaside entertainments though. If that's essential then it'll have to be depressing jaded UK holiday destinations or the costas I suppose
(, Tue 2 Jan 2018, 15:27, archived)
My ideal holiday seems to involve having ready access to a I nice beach, a bit of local history to walk around,
along with access to activities for the kids to enjoy whilst me and the missus relax in the pub. Which is why we've done Haven for 2 years in a row (classy).
I like the idea of renting a villa somewhere, though. That ought to allow me to avoid running into any other Brits Abroad.
(, Tue 2 Jan 2018, 15:41, archived)
there's a caravan park in chesil beach, right near the fleet lagoon
they have about half a dozen luxury apartments, 3 bedrooms and cable telly. short walk from the beach and amusements and there's plenty of pubs, cafes and bars.
